Who Is The ‘Own My Life’ Course For?

 

  • A transformative course for women with controlling partners, ex-partners or those who have experienced physical, emotional,
    mental or physical abuse, including domestic abuse and/or violence, sexual abuse, bullying, coercion in intimate or family relationships. Helping women to regain ownership of their lives.

  • The free ‘Own My Life’ Course is a psycho-educational course which is delivered by a trained facilitator.

  • Participants will be provided with course handbooks and reflective journals, free of charge. The handbook can be a valuable resource
    to continue self-development after completing the course. Refreshments are also provided free of charge on the day.

  • The course is being delivered in-person, and a separate course is available online for women who may not be able to travel to Cambridge.

What is the format of the course?

 

  • The course is delivered over 12 weeks.
  • Each weekly session is 2hrs long with a fifteen-minute break.
  • The program uses multimedia, interactive sessions and a personal journal called ‘Own My Story’ to help participants make sense of their experiences.
  • Includes short videos, group discussions and activities to help participants regain control of their feelings, relationships, and daily life.
  • There are individual and small group quizzes and group exercises.
  • There will also be small group discussions.

The course will be delivered in-person at the practice in Sawston. The address is:


Ashwell Point, Babraham Road, Sawston, Cambridge, CB22 3LJ. There is free ample parking, and a café next door.

 

The online course is delivered via Zoom.
